Artist's Comments

And here's another picture from my newest roll of film, and this is probably one of my favorites. I really like the textures, but I wish the lighting was just a little bit better; it still looks washed out, and some details weren't picked up. There are some really interesting details in that tree that I wish I could have made stand out a little more. Like the other piece I just loaded, this is the apple tree that is in my backyard which was attacked by birds, hence the title.

Of course, comments are welcome. :)

Love close-in shots like this-nothing better than seeing detail.

I like your depth of field, blurring out the background.

Agree on the lighting. Wish it was around this side a little more so the detail stood out (but not ALL the way round this side, then your lighting would be too flat).

Aww poor apple tree. It looks sick. Nice detail in this one, but a little too dark on the "hole". Keep taking beautiful photos!

I feel so bad for the tree...

um, by the way, if you're a fan of Rousseau, check out Foucault - he is one of the greatest social / individual thinkers of our time. I think you'll like him.

Nice textures, and even though I understand what you're saying about the lighting, sometimes when it's not so 'bright' it gives a more natural feel to the photo. I like it how it is :)
